Healthy ways to Boost Your Energy Levels

Do you feel like you are filled to the brim with “stuff” to do? Work, family, health, social life and the list goes on and on and on… . Your energy may feel like it was just sucked up by a vacuum. What if you are missing out on an opportunity to boost your energy, pretty easily and for free; would you do it?
I want you to think of your energetic body like a balloon. When you are energetically full, you feel this sense of lightness, ease and ability to give to others.  When energy is sucked out of you, you feel a little warped, exhausted, deflated and unable to give.  And simply stated, sometimes you feel like you are on the verge of bursting and ready to POP. Sound familiar anyone?
How do you balance your energy? You likely have heard about eating well, exercising and making sure hormones levels are up to par. All good stuff, now here’s something else to consider. Have you ever thought about linking your energy level to the gift of receiving? Yes, you heard me right, receiving.
You’ve likely experienced this, perhaps when out in nature at a beautiful location. Remember a time when you were able to soak up the sun or natual beauty and it filled you with inner peace or happiness. Or think about a time when you were enthralled with music or art, where the sound or image really captured your attention and gave you this sense of calmness or perhaps invincibility, if it’s your favorite rock song. There are endless ways to receive gifts from other people, nature, music, arts, spirituality, pets, hobbies and so forth.
Now let’s dive in and explore receiving from others. If someone is walking down the street and says “Hey, I really like your shirt.” Do you say “Oh this old thing, I got it 50% off” or do you fully embrace the compliment, RECEIVE it and say thank-you?
When a friend offers to buy you lunch, do you say:
  1. “Oh no, I’ve got it” and insist on paying.
  2. Haggle back and forth for a awhile, cave in to the gift and then insist you are paying next time.
  3. Gratefully accept the gift with appreciation.
Receiving, my friend, also helps you increase your  positive energy. Not only does it fill up your balloon by receiving gifts, it also acknowledges that you see value in yourself. Do you value yourself? If yes, then why the heck wouldn’t you accept a gift that adds to your value.  Others are showing their appreciation of you, are you open to accept it?

Consider this, when someone offers you a gift/compliment, not only accept it graciously by saying something like “Wow, that is so kind of you, I really appreciate this special treat today” AND say to yourself, YES, I am open to receive gifts and am deserving of these gifts. Then FEEL the emotion associated with the gift: gratitude, happiness, joy, love. If you are too busy arguing about it, you lose the intensity of the positive emotion and lose energy in arguing. Openly recieving adds personal value and positive energy into your life, for free. The person gifting you is doing so for a reason, embrace it!

Perhaps our independent culture or your upbringing sees you as being strong-will and needing to do it all yourself. Is that really serving you? Are you exhausted?  When you deny these gifts, your balloon is deflating, deflating and deflating and you can’t figure out why. Challenge yourself this week: receive each gift that comes your way with gratitude and see what happens. You may be a magnet for gifts; aka, positive energy that makes you balloon float with ease.

Please share how you were able to receive this week.

10 Tips to Slim Your Waistline For the Summer

Hello my Health Warriors, do I have a treat for you, now I know you have come across many programs, diets, pills, and so forth offering a quick fix to those love handles, and that extra weight your carrying around your waist, but I am here today to give you ten tried and truth tips which will get the job done.

1. Eat when you’re hungry not because you’re bored. Now although this is not a breaking dawn revelation it is a fact and strategy that if put to the test will prove to be a great tool in your arsenal to combat unwanted weight.

2. Stop eating when you’re almost full. Many of us feel the need to clear our plates or we have the syndrome that sometimes our eyes are bigger than our stomachs, but this all proves to be vital to our progress when wanting to shed weight and remain healthy, stop eating right before we feel full or the onset of being able to take in no more is easier said than done but as I stated can prove to be instrumental.

3.  Don’t skip breakfast. Why is this so important why has this been something that mother has been beating into our ears for years. Well actually science proves that the body is best suited for breaking down its much needed mineral, vitamins, and proteins right after a replenishment or good night’s rest, by this time our stomachs are empty and our tank is full, tank being metaphorical for our digestive systems enzymes and abilities to break down our food.

4. Eat meals at a table, not on the go, standing, or in the car, nor in front of your computer. As much as weight gain and being healthy is physical it is just that much mental, mentally preparing your body for its food intake is essential and can be established by setting a routine eating schedule and making sure you are in a place which puts your mind at ease and prepares it to take in food.

5. Don’t keep fillers like crackers, chips, and other processed items in your pantry. Just reading this causes a spell of dismay over me and im sure it does something very similar to the rest of you as these items are not only part of a culture but lets being honest they are our pleasure foods. Well these items cause us to eat out of boredom, and without little thought to their supplemental value so its best to rid yourself of the temptation in the first place.

6. Limit your snacks to real food, instead of processed sugar or fat fillers. Reverting back to the fillers, you may have already asked the question or at least thought if I can have my chips, crackers, or cookies what will I eat, well its actually better instead of the small snacks and fillers to simply eat real food or whole meals sort of say. Fruit salads, and vege buffets can provide a great alternative.

7. Don’t shop for food when you’re hungry. This goes to the old sain that as humans we tend to not make the best decisions when pressed, pressured, stressed, or simply not in our normal mind state. When purchasing food while you’re hungry you will tend to lead towards processed foods and trans fats foods since these foods generally offer quick solutions to your hunger.

8. Take deep breaths to reduce stress and choose stress busting foods. WHAT there are foods that help combat or reduce stress, sign me up. This tip is based off the fact that our intake of antiradicals which translates to toxins, cause us much undue stress, and can be helped by stopping for a moment and taking deep breaths.

9. Try to have at least one meal a day with family. Once again being in the right mental mind state can greatly increase your health and has immense fat reducing properties. Sitting and eating with family will usually cause us to have discussions which will cause us to spend more time at the dinner table entail causing us to eat less, funny coincidence, I would say.

10. Get enough sleep, darken your bedroom use earplugs and turn off all electronics ½ hour before bedtime. Regenerating the body is more than necessary its imperative that the body gets enough rest so that all the systems can function properly.

Healthy Start to a Productive Day

"The hardest part of getting up and out, is the getting up."

Once you have gotten up and begin doing your workout or walk, jog, or simply working, its just a matter of taking that first step to getting up. Most people face the getting out of bed blues where you look at your alarm or your clock and think if only i had 1 more hour to sleep, well this reeks lack of motivation.

Yes Motivation this word is one of the most powerful and necessary mental mindsets to accomplish anything. If you are not motivated to see yourself to your desired ends, it will be massively difficult road to bear. Thats why we all need to constantly remind ourselves of the reason why we are getting up at 6am to work out or get to work, we constantly need to have the eye of a tiger keeping our minds focused on what we know this continued action will lead us to, whether thats a fit summer body, or an impressive six pack, or financial independence whatever the goal we need to wake up with that in mind.

Using this method we will find it that much easier even thrilling to get out of bed and get started with our day. I myself often find myself beating my alarm and waking up with renewed sources of energy every time i think of my chief aim and accomplishing it, its such an exciting feeling to accomplish your goals, and once you have accomplished a couple you begin to gain the confidence that you can accomplish more and more of your goals.

Do not let lack of motivation put you on bed rest, motivate yourself and others to get up and get out, life is precious time is precious and to live with purpose is the only life worth living!
