Setting Up Shapin America

Hello, America myself Mark Hamilton and ten celebrities have decided to spearhead the next movement throughout America. WIth Health care being such a big issue I felt compelled to make a stance and take part in the battle on unhealthiness and obesity in America.

So what I have done is gathered ten celebrities: Actors, actresses, singers, fighters, bodybuilders, and dancers to create Shapin America, which is a production of celebrity fitness videos and a three part television mini series that demonstrates the road myself and the celebrities took to get America in shape.

We have established our mission which is to create enough awareness across America so that Americans begin to incorporate daily fitness and exercise into their daily routines, so that we will put American on track to living happier lives by living healthier lives.

Our goal is to charge as many Americans as we can reach with loosing at least 10 pounds by December of 2010 so that we have a combine weight loss in America of 10,000,000 pounds.

We will do this through our fitness videos and by touring Americas health and fitness clubs to promote exercise and fitness.

This blog will keep you up to date with the progress of the executive producer Mark Hamilton and each and everyone of the celebrities he works with.

The idea came to me going on a month and a half ago now, it was a cold breezy night in October I was awake in my Los Angeles hotel suite(more like roach motel, in inglewood) but anyways i was viewing my statistics on Jango the online airplay base that gets indie artists radio play all over the world, and many of the responses I was receiving for my dance hit "Deejay's" was that it is a great work out song. So i decided in all my greatness that this would be an untapped market that I could explore.
Once I stepped into the fitness realm business wise, because I am a devoted follower of regular exercise, I realized that this was more than just an outlet to exploit my music, this is a serious issue in America. So I decided to set myself aside as far as my own desires and ambitions to be a world renowned musician or artist, and ventured into uncharted territories. I knew that this was a philanthropic venture but could still be profitable so I combined the two.
I posted an ad on craigslist for talents and celebrities who wanted to do their own fitness videos and the responses were phenomenial. I began receiving emails from celebrities of all professions, so I started emailing back and the ones that were serious got on board.
I hired on an assistant to help me with my schedule and arrange meetings with each one of the celebrities that expressed interest.
We meet myself, P.R. reps, agents, and talent alike and each and every person I meet with was overwhelmingly receptive to my idea. (The dream was born)

Once I had the talent on board I informed them that I would like to begin shooting the first two weeks of November. (this was now the last two weeks of October and I had no idea where id get the money from)

So once I knew i had people to shoot I just needed a place to shoot and a crew to shoot the talent.
To make a long story short I found everything I needed in the nick of time and by the time November 2 came around I was ready to shoot, granted my first talent was sick and needed to reschedule, we still managed.

My first shoot I get to work with the fun and loving Diegodiego a latin music sensation! He was great made the segment fun and for it being my first time producing and the first time the crew had ever worked with one another it really turned out well.

My second shoot I shot with Dana Jamison and her friend from The Real world, they were so crazy we messed around alot but for the most part I believe we got a really good segment out of them. These women were great working with they had that real world reality show type mannerism so for them the cameras were always rolling even when they weren't.

As of now Im scheduled to shoot this Saturday with Dallas Malloy who is a sweetheart, i admire her so much for all her accomplishments. She started the womens boxing league when there was no such, she was on Eli Roth and Jerry Maquire shes a world class professional bodybuilder, what more needs to be said than Im looking forward to her segment.
It was funny because her and I met at a convention and i just felt compelled when I saw here to get her involved and from then on it was history.

A Call For America To Shape Up

(Los Angeles, California) - - Living off the fat of the land was a phrase Americans once used to point out how they were able to build a life and succeed from only what they had or came across. It was said with a sense of pride and achievement. The truth today is that Americans have more fat than the land does. Study after study has demonstrated the growth of the growth of Americans. Obesity has become a health crisis that is costing people their health, their savings and in increasing numbers, their lives.

A recent worldwide study has shown that the United States has the greatest obesity rate (30.6%) than any other country in the world. Mexico ranks second at 24.2% and was one of only six countries with a rate of 20% or higher. A further breakdown of statistics show that 49 states have a prevalence of obesity at a level greater than 20%. Six states (Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia) have rates at or greater than 30%.

The cost of obesity regarding medical care has been estimated to represent almost 10% of the total amount spent yearly on health care. The state-level spending ranges from $89 million in Wyoming to over $8 billion in California.

Obesity among children ages 6 to 19 has tripled since 1980. It’s also been found that a child is more likely to face an obesity problem if they have at least one parent who is obese.

While the problem of obesity has been acknowledged, the solution as the statistics show has yet to be found. People can make speeches, air advertisements and open centers where people are invited to take part in a variety of passive programs. Product after product can make all the promises in the world but if it’s based on false ideas there will be no firm commitment to finding an answer to America’s obesity epidemic.
